FAQ-1002. I think my datafile is damaged, can I fix it?
If you are experiencing strange behavior that no other question on this site can answer, you may need to repair your datafile:
- Back up your ootpik folder! (go to the Finder, find your ootpik folder, click on the File menu at the very top of the screen, and select "Compress ootpik")
- Close all ootpik applications.
- Launch the Server application while holding "Option" on the keyboard. Choose to open the application in Maintenance Center.
- Select Repair from the left, then select "Recover by record headers", then click "Scan and repair…".
- After the Scan completes, you'll need to hit the "Recover" button. If you don't get a green check mark saying the data file has been repaired, repeat the repair until you do.
- Once you've gotten your green check mark, quit the application. Then open it as you normally would.
